TRAINING BOARD

Driven by curiosity and built on purpose, this is where bold thinking meets thoughtful execution. Let’s create something meaningful together.

Training board at hidden hills

Set on 30 acres in the heart of Valle Crucis, Hidden Hills combines functional training facilities with the natural beauty of the High Country. The property includes a 100 x 200 all-weather GGT arena, a half-mile gallop track, a two-acre derby field, and hacking areas along the river designed to keep horses happy, fit, and mentally fresh.

Our all-weather arena was constructed by respected arena builder Clint Bertalan and the farm itself is constantly evolving as we continue to invest in thoughtful improvements and long-term development around our program.

The cornerstone of our training philosophy is the belief that flatwork is fundamental and remains the key to success in the hunter, equitation, and jumper rings. Our goal is to develop educated riders with feel, adaptability, and the ability to create the horse they need beneath them rather than simply ride what is already there.

Horsemanship and horse care are equally central to our program. The horse always comes first at Hidden Hills, and we remain rigorously committed to that standard in every aspect of training and management. Horses in our training program are maintained through a structured six-day program that includes lessons, professional rides, schooling, and consistent oversight to ensure continuity in both development and care.

Quality control is extremely important to us. We believe strong foundations create successful, confident horses and riders, while shortcuts and half measures are often where problems — and injuries — begin. Our approach to training is heavily influenced by European systems, with an emphasis on correct basics, consistency, and earning progression through  proven readiness rather than rushing through the levels.
